About
Hailing from Columbus Ohio, Pale Grey Lore conjure up their own proprietary blend of doom-laden psych rock. The band began as a collaboration between brothers Michael (guitar, vocals) and Adam Miller (drums), with Donovan Johnson (bass) joining up in the summer of 2014. Xander Roseberry (guitar, backing vocals) was added to the lineup in the winter of 2016. Pale Grey Lore have shared stages with the likes of Pelican, Monolord, Karma To Burn, Black Pyramid, Inter Arma, Lo-Pan, Le Butcherettes, Pallbearer, King Buffalo, Howling Giant, The Well and many more.
The band’s eponymous debut album was originally self-released digitally and on limited-run CD in June of 2016 and was ranked #13 on legendary heavy music blog TheObelisk.net’s Top 20 Debut Albums of that year. Conceived as a series of surreal vignettes, each song depicts allegorical scenes from a dystopian world in which the lines between science and the occult, technology and superstition, are hopelessly blurred. The album was released on vinyl LP December 1st 2017 via Oak Island Records, an imprint of German label Kozmik Artifactz.
In the summer of 2019, Pale Grey Lore signed with Small Stone Records for the release of their sophomore album, Eschatology. It was released on vinyl LP, CD, and digital formats September 6th 2019. Based on a narrative concept that combines cosmic horror with post-apocalyptic sci-fi, Eschatology ambitiously expands upon the sonic framework established by Pale Grey Lore's first album, while remaining true to the band's original vision.
